Introduction to our production- House of Bhangra- Vivek Pun
In this documentary i will be working in a group of 5, including, Satvinder, Daljit, Karandeep , Anamul and myself. We aim to provide the audience with information about the development of Bhangra, from merely being sung in the villages of Punjab India into becoming a mainstream Genre with rising popularity amongst a broader Western Audience. We aim to give a greater insight into the genre, through showing exclusive interviews with reknown artist aswell as providing inside information into Bhangra Gigs, aswell as interviews with DJ'S. The history of Bhangra will be covered ranging to the modern increase in popularity in Bhangra, examples include collaborations from PMC with Jayz. Most of the places where these interviews and the Gig footage, will be shot will be at Clubs entitled, New Light and Zoo Bar. Potentional Artists to be interviewed will include, Bobby Friction, Juggy D and DJ H from the Caliber Roadshow. All of the artists listed above are fairly well known to Bhangra listeners and Juggy D in particular is known across a more broader western audience. We also aim to interview Artists who have been involved in the Bhangra Movement from the start of its popularisation in the Western Area, such as DJ's in the Paragon Roadshow. Along with this interviews will be conducted with farily well known Dhol players as this is one of the most Key and well known instruments, associated with the Bhangra Genre.

I like the moving images in your blog,and the images taken from previous gigs. I think the presentation could be a bit more deatiled and a better detailed report about your production.
To make your production successful,you should focus on a busy dancefllor and take close up shots of people dancing with flashing lights on them,allowing outsiders to see the popularity of bhangra music.

I liked what you lot showed in class the other day, but the thing what oput it all down was the fact that how u filmed from far away and didn't get close-ups of people, etc. i think you should ask people's views on bhangra music as well as just bhangra artists.

The blog looks good with progress reports and news of the group and images of what u are talking about like the picture of the house of Bhangra, the impresive thing is when you went to the club and filmed it really looks realistic, i also liked the interview with Dj H, but we couldnt really hear waht was being said, if you can redo it and use a microphone it could pick up clearly what was being said and film a palce where we cant hear the music a lot cause it was distracting a bit, you alos might have used the tripod when filming teh intrview, when filming in the club use more close up on the people dancing to show that the place is crowded to show that a lot of people like this type of music, you colud also zoomed up a bit on the dj's animating to show how theyre working, i also suggest that u need to add some more research on the house of bhangra and interview some more dj's, but the blog looks good and even the first footage.

I like the pictures you have posted up which make your blog attractive and stand out as a result. Your progress reports are also very detailed which is good.
I think to improve, you could post up some more detailed research about bhangra music and maybe post up some pics of your current footage.
For post production, you should use a variety of shots mostly close ups when people are dancing and get people's opinions on this particular music genre, to shape your production.

Write more about Bhangra and what it's about, how has it developed? Changed? The difference between men and women? Younger generations and older generations.
Add some interviews of people where Bhangra is in their culture, do they do Bhangra? If so, why? If not, why? People who have learnt Bhangra, why did they learn it? What does it mean to them?

Very informational blog...it's good that your keeping up to date with your progress and stuff. It's funny as well..but it's the same of what you said to us, livin it up with more pics and colour cos urs is about bhangra so it should be really lively.
After the test screening I thought (and i'm sure you guys know 2) that u should film from better angles and use lights in darker places...Also re-shoot some of the interviews you did cos the music overtook it...But it was interesting to watch and if you focus on the things you need to change your production will be really good!

This is a really good idea, and alot of people will be interested in this topic.
You guys need to include facts about the music industry, and show the increasing number of asian artists! and how this has effected youngsters.
In the footage, you need to make sure the sound is clear, and when filming at a gig, the dance floor should be packed, and have really loud upbeat music!

Blog looks good. You’ve posted up a lot of new stuff : images, research, progress reports etc. Keep going with that. Also i like the way your blog looks more personal with images from previous gigs.
In order to improve your blog you should include a structured plan of your documentary so that everything is clearer for you and other people can give you ideas.
The footage shown in class had some good elements but just needs to be developed slightly e.g. the dance floor needed to look busier. use lots of random angle shots (low angle) when filming the dance floor.

ne wayy....perhaps a little more information can be added, you've got all the history background traditional information, you could add more short vids that might be able to explain more about bhangra back in india im sure you can just get a vid from "youtube", so people get more of an understanding.

Blog looks good.Its a good topic as its very comtemporary and you lot know a lot about it. You've done some good research too-but try giving it a clear structure. From what i've seen so far its good but you need to make sure the lighting and sound is right and avoid too many zooms otherwise it'll look unprofessional.Take a variety of footage other than interviews with artists and gigs. Also give it faster pace so it appeals to your target audience.

your blog looks really good and your pictures are relevant towards your topic, its good that you managed to interview a popular dj but in future when you are interviewing try and interview in a quite place where there is not a lot of noise and make sure that the interviewer is not in the shot as well as the mic as this makes it look very amateur and cheap. i like the shot sof the previous gigs and i like the way you have shown how the crowd respond to the bhangra music at the gigs.

Based on the footage that was shown in class was good, but the gig was shown blur/dark in some areas and the camera needed to be a bit closer to the dance floor as it shows the dance floor empty in a far shot, When doing your vox pop, use a more quit location as in the footage we can’t really hear the interview going on.
